Following on from a thrilling US Open, we’re posting more grand slam tennis betting tips with daily French Open predictions from Roland Garros.
British interest has already diminished with early exits for Andy Murray and Johanna Konta, but there will still be some cracking action on clay.
Here’s our 9/4 treble for day two:
Hubert Hurkacz to beat Tennys Sandgren @ 12/25
Hurkacz showed some encouraging signs of a return to form in Rome recently, seeing off Britain’s Dan Evans and in-form 12th seed Andrey Rublev in hard-fought encounters before giving Diego Schwartzman a tough test. The 23-year-old Pole can also take heart from having beaten Sandgren 6-2 6-2 3-6 6-3 at Roland Garros in 2018 and looks a solid selection to start off our French Open predictions.
Jan-Lennard Struff to beat Frances Tiafoe @ 53/100
Tiafoe came out on top in their only previous meeting in Antwerp last year but that was on an indoor hardcourt surface and Struff will be much more favoured by switching to clay for this encounter. The 30-year-old German has reached 10 Challenger finals on the red stuff and looked in decent nick when narrowly beaten 6-7 6-4 5-7 by Karen Khachanov in Hamburg last week.
Daniel Altmaier to beat Feliciano Lopez @ 9/20
This is another selection based on the old horses for courses philosophy, as Altmaier is far more comfortable on clay than the veteran Spaniard. After overcoming some injury issues, the 22-year-old German is back on an upward curve after reaching Challenger Tour semi-finals in Cordenons and Aix en Provence. Lopez has gone out in round one here 12 times in 19 visits, falling at the first hurdle for the past couple of years.
