South Africa and Pakistan both look destined to make an early exit from the Cricket World Cup but preference is for the former when they clash at Lord’s.

They played well in defeat versus New Zealand last Wednesday and could well have won that contest if their usually reliable fielding had been on point.

We reckon taking 33/50 for the Proteas to prevail is the way to go with our initial Pakistan vs South Africa prediction.

A Look At Pakistan’s Betting Odds

Pakistan upset England to claim their sole success so far, but have since been comprehensively outplayed by Australia and India.

The Falcons did not bowl badly against both of those powerful outfits, but their batsmen continue to look short of class at this level.

That suggests they need to shine in the field to keep any slim hopes of making the semi-finals alive and Mohammad Amir is the danger man.

He has taken an impressive 13 wickets to date, eight more than any other member of this squad, so 5/2 for him to be his side’s top bowler again has obvious appeal from the Pakistan vs South Africa odds.

A Look At South Africa’s Betting Odds

South Africa posted 241 for six against the Black Caps at Edgbaston in midweek and seemed on course for victory when reducing their opponents to 137 for five.

However, Kane Williamson’s unbeaten 106 and a quickfire 60 from Colin De Grandhomme turned the match around.

The Proteas missed chances to dismiss Williamson, failing to take a run-out opportunity and not asking for a television review when there was a possible edge and catch to wicketkeeper Quinton De Kock off spinner Imran Tahir.

That sums up their tournament, but skipper Faf Du Plessis said: “We left everything out there and that’s all I can ask for as a captain, that the guys fought.”

Rassie van der Dussen is one of the players still battling and he can hold his head up high after moving to 180 runs in four innings with an unbeaten 67.

Let’s finish off our Pakistan vs South Africa betting tips by taking 5/1 for him to top score for his team once more.
