Australia are aiming to continue their fine record against Pakistan at Taunton on Wednesday.

The Aussies, looking for a response following a defeat to India, have beaten Pakistan in 14 of their last 15 one-day internationals.

That record has to count for something and Aaron Finch’s side to win is 2/5 in our initial Australia vs Pakistan prediction.

A Look At Australia’s Betting Odds

Australia’s quest to retain the trophy they won on home soil in 2015 had a setback on Sunday when they were well beaten by India.

They have since suffered another blow with the news all-rounder Marcus Stoinis picked up a side strain.

Captain Finch said: “We’ve got to find a few more overs now, whether we play the extra batter or extra bowler, we’ll wait and see, and especially tomorrow with the conditions. That’s something we’ve got to juggle with.”

Although the margin of defeat to India was only 36 runs, that did not tell the whole story as they produced a peculiar chase of 353.

David Warner was circumspect in making 56 off 84 balls at the top of the order, that after the problematic ‘zing’ bails came to his rescue on one occasion.

Warner’s slow innings in the circumstances attracted slight criticism and he will want to respond as he looks to build on two half-centuries so far.

The opener is 11/4 to be his side’s top scorer in the Australia vs Pakistan odds.

A Look At Pakistan’s Betting Odds

Pakistan were frustrated by the weather as they looked to build on their impressive victory over England.

Their clash with Sri Lanka was washed out so they will be raring to go in Somerset, despite their poor recent record against Australia.

“It’s the past. We’re not thinking about that,” captain Sarfaraz Ahmed said.

“Actually we are thinking about the game. Our morale is very high, momentum is very high. So hopefully we’ll do very good against them tomorrow.”

Mohammad Amir has led the way with the ball for Pakistan, taking five wickets in their two completed games, and could be crucial if Sarfaraz wins the toss and bowls early morning in Taunton.

The left-armer to be his side’s top wicket-taker at 3/1 completes our Australia vs Pakistan betting tips.
