Uruguay’s big guns have been firing at the Copa America and that makes them worthy favourites to see off a less-talented Peru outfit in the quarter-finals.

Los Incas had their limitations cruelly exposed when thrashed 5-0 by Brazil in the last round of group-stage fixtures and will find it tough to recover from that.

We’re taking 39/20 for La Celeste to prevail by more than one clear goal for our first Uruguay vs Peru prediction.

A Look At Uruguay’s Betting Odds

PSG forward Edinson Cavani and Barcelona striker Luis Suarez were both on target for Uruguay when they opened with a 4-0 rout of Ecuador.

A 2-2 draw with Japan then seemed a little careless, but Suarez netted again from the penalty spot and Atletico Madrid defender Jose Gimenez also scored.

Beating two-time defending champions Chile 1-0 helped La Celeste to top Group C, with Cavani flicking a header past Gabriel Arias in the 82nd minute.

Long-time coach Oscar Tabarez has brought through fresh legs in midfield, with the likes of Rodrigo Bentancur of Juventus, Real Madrid’s Federico Valverde and Arsenal grafter Lucas Torreira.

The golden oldies up front are feeling the benefit and we like 18/1 for Cavani to score first in a 2-0 victory from the Uruguay vs Peru odds.

A Look At Peru’s Betting Odds

Having performed better than their bare results suggested at last year’s World Cup, Peru were widely tipped as dark horses to do well in Brazil.

Drawing 0-0 with Venezuela was a solid start and coming from behind to beat Bolivia 3-1 built up some momentum.

However, Los Incas were brought back down to earth with a bang when thrashed by the hosts in Sao Paulo, where the scoreline could have been even worse.

Casemiro, Roberto Firmino, Everton, Dani Alves and Willian all struck, but several other chances went astray and Gabriel Jesus had a stoppage-time penalty saved.

Head coach Ricardo Gareca will have to go back to basics here, but that could compromise their attacking play.

There is also a fear that his 4-2-3-1 formation has become too predictable, so 3/2 for La Celeste to win to nil is worth adding to our Uruguay vs Peru betting tips.
