Kick-off: 2000, 30/06/2019

Stadium: Cairo International Stadium

TV: Eurosport

Egypt have looked rock-solid as Africa Cup of Nations hosts by starting out with two straight victories and are hard to oppose against Uganda in Cairo.

The Cranes are also on course to progress from Group A after beating DR Congo and drawing with Zimbabwe, but this is a big step up in class from those contests.

We’re snapping up 4/5 for the Pharaohs to continue their winning streak for our first Uganda vs Egypt prediction.

A Look At Uganda’s Betting Odds

Uganda sprang a surprise when seeing off a disappointing DR Congo side 2-0, with headers from Patrick Kaddu and Emmanuel Okwi doing the damage.

Okwi then took his fine international record to 23 goals in 72 games when opening the scoring against Zimbabwe, but the Warriors did hit back for a 1-1 draw.

French coach Sebastien Desabre has moulded Uganda into a disciplined unit and they will also take heart from a recent 1-0 friendly win over Ivory Coast, as well as a goalless draw with Nigeria in November.

However, we just feel the Pharaohs can find a way to break them down and 21/2 for the hosts to oblige 1-0 appeals from the Uganda vs Egypt odds.

A Look At Egypt’s Betting Odds

Egypt did us a favour when following up a 1-0 win over Zimbabwe by beating DR Congo 2-0, as we picked out a trio of successful bets in our preview of that match, including a 19/4 correct score pay-out.

The Pharaohs did not have it all their own way on Wednesday, as the Leopards twice hit the woodwork.

However, Aston Villa defender Ahmed Elmohamady and Liverpool’s African Player of the Year Mohamed Salah struck first-half goals to give the hosts victory.

It’s been almost five years since Egypt lost to an African side on home turf and the 2006, 2008 and 2010 champions look determined to make up for losing in the final two years ago.

This could be a tight tussle against well-drilled opponents, but 23/10 for the Pharaohs to prevail again and under 2.5 goals in the game completes our Uganda vs Egypt betting tips.
