The England centre-half has signed a six-year contract at Old Trafford following his £80million switch from Leicester, a world record fee for a defender.
Maguire told United’s official website: “I am delighted to have signed for this great club.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Leicester and would like to thank everyone at the club, and the fans, for their fantastic support over the past two seasons.
“However, when Manchester United come knocking on your door, it is an incredible opportunity.
“From my conversations with the manager, I am excited about the vision and plans he has for the team.
“It’s clear to see that Ole is building a team to win trophies. I am now looking forward to meeting my new team-mates and getting the season started.”
Past Man Utd transfer news has seen Swansea flyer Daniel James and Crystal Palace right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka join the Red Devils.
However, landing Maguire is a major coup and the 26-year-old could make his debut in Sunday’s Premier League opener against Chelsea at Old Trafford.
Red Devils still eyeing more transfer moves
Solskjaer said: “Harry is one of the best centre-backs in the game today and I am delighted we have secured his signature.
“He is a great reader of the game and has a strong presence on the pitch, with the ability to remain calm under pressure.
“Coupled with his composure on the ball and a huge presence in both boxes, I can see he will fit well into this group both on and off the pitch.”
Solskjaer has confirmed United are still in the market for more signings after slumping to sixth in the table last season.
Juventus’ Paulo Dybala has been in talks over a swap deal that would see Romelu Lukaku go the other way, but it is understood the Argentina international’s astronomical demands have put paid to that move.
The Belgium striker remains keen to leave Old Trafford and Inter Milan are pushing to sign him, while it remains to be seen how the Dybala situation would impact a move for Juve striker Mario Mandzukic.
Star midfielder Paul Pogba has reportedly been the subject of a bid from Real Madrid, but United are planning for a season with the World Cup winner, despite his comments in June about being open to a new challenge.
The latest Man Utd transfer odds have Pogba at 4/5 to sign for Real before September 2.
