Juventus vs Chelsea: Bianconeri no longer feared

Kick-off: 2000, 29/09/2021

Stadium: Allianz Stadium

TV: BT Sport

Chelsea look to have little to fear but past reputations when visiting Juventus in Group H of the Champions League.

The Italian outfit only just sneaked into this competition and have been far from convincing on the domestic front again since the new season started.

We reckon 19/20 for an away win represents where both of these teams currently stand and that is our initial Juventus vs Chelsea prediction.

A Look At Juventus’ Betting Odds

To be fair, Juve did enjoy a smooth 3-0 success versus Malmo in Sweden on Matchday 1, with all of the goals coming before half-time.

Alex Sandro headed in the opener on 23 minutes, Paulo Dybala struck from the penalty spot and Alvaro Morata pounced on some sloppy defending.

Moise Kean went close to adding a fourth after the break, but it has to be noted that Malmo lived up to their billing of pool whipping boys.

On the domestic front, Juventus are down in ninth place after getting off to a poor start which produced just two points from four outings.

Back-to-back wins over Spezia and Sampdoria have helped the Bianconeri rally, but scrambling to 3-2 victories on each occasion has only papered over the cracks in our book.

Looking at the Juventus vs Chelsea odds, we like 10/3 for an away win and both teams to score in Turin.

A Look At Chelsea’s Betting Odds

Chelsea were given the runaround by Manchester City for large parts of Saturday’s 1-0 Premier League defeat, with Thomas Tuchel’s shift to a 3-5-2 formation failing to work.

Defender Toni Rudiger refused to blame tactics and told the club website: “We just had a bad day at the office.”

However, the hope is that lessons will be learned and Tuchel will return to the more attacking gameplan which impressed earlier on this term.

The Blues had previously slammed Crystal Palace, Arsenal, Aston Villa and Tottenham by an aggregate score of 11-0.

They were also much the better team in a 1-1 draw at Liverpool until having Reece James sent off.

In this competition, Chelsea began the defence of their trophy with a 1-0 defeat of Zenit, thanks to Romelu Lukaku’s lovely header.

Tuchel’s men were almost made to pay for squandering numerous other chances when Artem Dzyuba went close late on, so should look to be more clinical up front here.

Let’s finish off our Juventus vs Chelsea betting tips by taking 11/5 for the visitors to score in both halves.
