Kick-off: 2000, 26/12/2020

Stadium: Bramall Lane

TV: BT Sport

Sheffield United came close to grabbing their first win of the season last weekend and can hopefully now get over the line when hosting Everton.

The Toffees had a tough work-out when beaten by Manchester United in the EFL Cup on Wednesday night and may just pay the penalty at Bramall Lane.

We think 31/10 for the Blades to prevail is a value bet for our first Sheff Utd vs Everton prediction.

A Look At Sheffield United’s Betting Odds

Sheffield United showed plenty of spirit when taking a 63rd-minute lead at Brighton through Jayden Bogle after John Lundstram had been sent off before half-time.

However, they were denied a much-needed victory when Danny Welbeck levelled late on for Albion.

That followed another gutsy effort when going down 3-2 at home to Manchester United and Chris Wilder believes his players are proving their determination to scrap for survival.

“All we can do is go and try and show what we’re about, which I think we have done over the last two games,” said the manager.

“I’m disappointed we’ve only got one point from a home game against Manchester United and an away game against a talented, established Premier League club.

“If we don’t show that right attitude, we’re toast – we understand that, so it won’t happen.

“At least there’s a little bit of light at the end of the tunnel after the last two games.”

United have endured the worst start to a campaign in Premier League history and remain rock bottom having suffered 12 defeats from their opening 14 fixtures.

They have been competitive in home games against the likes of Manchester City and Leicester, though, as well as giving the Red Devils a few hairy moments.

For those happy to take a shorter price, 10/11 for the Blades to avoid defeat stands out from the Sheff Utd vs Everton odds.

Last Sheff Utd line-up: Ramsdale, Baldock, Stevens, Basham, Egan, Robinson, Ampadu, Fleck, Lundstram, McGoldrick, Brewster.

A Look At Everton’s Betting Odds

Everton are chasing a fourth straight Premier League victory after fine wins over Chelsea, Leicester and Arsenal pushed them up to fourth in the table.

However, all of those contests were hard-fought affairs and the Toffees had another stiff test when going down 2-0 to a couple of late goals in the cup in midweek.

“We are disappointed because it was an important competition for us,” commented Carlo Ancelotti, who only made three changes for that quarter-final.

“We have no regrets, because the team performed. We had a difficult start but after 20 minutes, defensively we were in control.

“In the second half, we didn’t give an opportunity against a team which is really strong.

“We performed defensively, we were good until the end, we were close to the penalties, but no regrets, absolutely.”

There were some signs of wear and tear creeping in during that game, with Yerry Mina going down for treatment and Richarlison replaced after appearing to sustain a heavy head knock.

If such a busy and demanding workload takes its toll, 8/1 for Draw HT/Sheff Utd FT is worth adding to our Sheff Utd vs Everton betting tips.

Last Everton EPL line-up: Pickford, Holgate, Keane, Mina, Godfrey, Sigurdsson, Doucoure, Davies, Richarlison, Calvert-Lewin, Iwobi.
