Manchester City return to Goodison Park in the FA Cup quarter-finals little more than a month since they enjoyed a 3-1 victory in the Premier League.
City remain in the hunt for silverware in four competitions after reaching the last eight of the Champions League on Tuesday night and Everton are 4/1 to knock them out of the FA Cup.
The Toffees have struggled at home recently though so our first Everton vs Man City prediction is an away win and over 2.5 goals at 17/20.
A Look At Everton’s Betting Odds
Everton have managed just one win in seven matches at Goodison Park since the turn of the year, with their miserable run including defeats against West Ham, Newcastle, Fulham and Burnley as well as City.
The latest was a 2-1 loss against Burnley when they conceded twice inside the first half an hour and could not find an equaliser despite Dominic Calvert-Lewin pulling one back.
Manager Carlo Ancelotti said: “The performance was not good at the beginning because we did mistakes and were punished by the mistakes.
“We tried to get in the game and were lucky to score early but in the second half we didn’t have the quality to find an opportunity.
“It is a big disappointment but what can we do, we can’t give up. We want to still fight for the position in Europe.”
Everton certainly do not possess the same depth in quality as City and they are now without injured England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
That could mean the inexperienced Joao Virginia could start, with summer signing Robin Olsen also sidelined by injury.
Virginia is likely to have a busy evening and we like evens for City to score in both halves in the Everton vs Man City odds.
A Look At Manchester City’s Betting Odds
City eased into the Champions League in midweek with the minimum of fuss and the 2-0 win against Borussia Monchengladbach should not have taken too much toll on them.
Kevin De Bruyne and Ilkay Gundogan struck in the opening 18 minutes of the second leg to put City 4-0 up on aggregate, meaning they could ease off in the second half.
The attention now switches to the FA Cup and Pep Guardiola is wary of the threat Everton pose.
“A few weeks ago we were there and we struggled and fought a lot to win and this will be no exception because it is a ‘final’,” said the City boss.
“But it’s an incredible step to get to the semi-finals of the FA Cup and we’ll prepare and be ready for that.
“We are playing good in terms of what we want. We are doing it well and hope we can continue on Saturday.”
City have won 3-1 on three of their last four visits to Goodison Park – as we predicted last time out – and in four of the last six meetings, so backing the same outcome again at 10/1 makes sense as the last of our Everton vs Man City betting tips.
