Denmark can play with freedom after already securing a Nations League promotion and that could prove bad news for Republic of Ireland in Aarhus.

There were no goals when these teams met in Dublin last month but the Scandinavians look in much better shape for the return fixture.

We reckon 6/5 for a home win to nil is a rock-solid Denmark vs Republic of Ireland prediction.

A Look At Denmark’s Betting Odds

Denmark clinched top spot in this group after doing the double over Wales with a 2-1 victory in Cardiff on Friday night.

Nicolai Jorgensen finished off a superb counter-attack and Martin Braithwaite added a well-struck second, before Gareth Bale bagged a late consolation.

The Danes had earlier beaten Wales 2-0 at home, thanks to a Christian Eriksen brace, and saw off Austria by the same scoreline in a friendly last month.

Those efforts followed a decent run at the World Cup, when only edged out on penalties by Croatia in the first knockout round.

“Throughout 2018 we have been very, very stable with our performances, and we were very good again,” said head coach Age Hareide after the win in Wales.

“It is a good, hard-working side. The players deserve a lot of credit for putting Denmark as high as possible in the world rankings.”

Hareide will have to make some changes here, with Kasper Schmeichel and influential midfielder Thomas Delaney suspended.

Back-up keeper Jonas Lossl and captain Simon Kjaer are injured, but there is still a strong spine to this side.

Feyenoord forward Jorgensen, Middlesbrough striker Braithwaite and RB Leipzig front man Yussuf Poulsen provide plenty of attacking options ahead of Tottenham playmaker Eriksen.

Looking at the Denmark vs Republic of Ireland odds, we like 11/2 for a 2-0 home victory.

A Look At Republic of Ireland’s Betting Odds

Ireland have already been relegated to League C and will have only pride to play for in Aarhus.

Martin O’Neill’s side are on a run of just one win in 10 games and facing growing frustration over a brand of football which has left supporters craving creativity.

The men in green were booed off after Thursday night’s goalless friendly draw with Northern Ireland at the Aviva Stadium.

Preston striker Callum Robinson has called for a response in this game, stating: “We have got to go there and be positive.

“Obviously, the fans feel a little bit disappointed at the moment with us, which is fair enough, but we have got to stick together as a group and hopefully come out a better side.”

However, Denmark boss Hareide seems intent on climbing further up the rankings, so the hosts will be a tough nut to crack.

The visitors did draw 0-0 in Scandinavia in a World Cup play-off last November, though, so 7/5 for a scoreless first half may be worth adding to our Denmark vs Republic of Ireland betting tips.
