Swansea have been one of the surprise packages in the first few weeks of the season and are favourites to extend their unbeaten start at home to Birmingham.
The departure of manager Graham Potter for Brighton over the summer had some pundits fearing the Swans could be in a relegation battle this term.
It is still early days but new boss Steve Cooper has hit the ground running and we’re going for a home win at 17/20 as our first Swansea vs Birmingham prediction.
A Look At Swansea City’s Betting Odds
There were fears over where Swansea’s goals would come from this season after the sales of Dan James and Oli McBurnie but eight goals in the first four games has allayed those worries.
Star man so far has been striker Borja Baston, who was initially a flop in south Wales after being brought in from Atletico Madrid as the club’s record signing.
He would have been long gone if the club had found a buyer but is now back in favour and showing the qualities that persuaded Swansea to sign him in the first place.
Baston has started the season with four goals in as many games, with his only blank being in a goalless draw at Derby.
The goals are flying in for the Swans but they have also conceded four so we expect another open game here and a home win with over 2.5 goals in the match is added to our Swansea vs Birmingham betting tips at 39/20.
Last Swansea line-up: Woodman, Rodon, Van der Hoorn, Roberts, Bidwell, Fulton, Grimes, Celina, Byers, Baston, Ayew.
A Look At Birmingham’s City’s Betting Odds
Birmingham’s win at Brentford on the opening weekend will have ruined plenty of football accumulators but it was a classic smash-and-grab job, with Blues scoring with their only attempt on target.
They could easily have been on the receiving end of a heavy defeat that day and they were well beaten 3-0 at Nottingham Forest in their second away trip.
Tuesday’s 2-0 win at home to Barnsley means Birmingham already have seven points on the board but we’re yet to be convinced that this kind of form is sustainable for a squad which looks limited.
We’re happy to oppose the visitors here so a home win by more than one goal is our final pick from the Swansea vs Birmingham odds at 23/10.
Last Birmingham line-up: Camp, Harding, Pedersen, Roberts, Dean, Seddon, Villalba, Davis, Sunjic, Jutkiewicz, Alvaro.
QPR 1-3 SWANSEA – Bersant Celina, Borja Baston, Sam Surridge
BIRMINGHAM 2-0 Barnsley – Lukas Jutkiewicz, Alvaro
Head-to-head: Swansea 3-3 Birmingham, Birmingham 0-0 Swansea, Birmingham 1-2 Swansea, Birmingham 3-1 Swansea
